ADC bill will be deliberated to prevent issues: Minister Letpao Haokip

Letpao Haokip who is also a member of the Hill Area Committee (HAC) of the draft bill, ‘The Manipur (Hill Areas) Autonomous District Council Bill, 2021’ said the bill should be constituted under rules and regulations of the Indian Constitution and no person can make objections against it.

The Autonomous District Council (ADC) Bill will be thoroughly deliberated to prevent causing harm to any ethnic communities, and it will be tabled on the floor of the state Legislative Assembly, said Youths Affairs and Sports Minister Letpao Haokip on Saturday.

He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 35th Annual Sports Meet held at Aimol Satu village, Tengnoupal district on Saturday.

Letpao who is also a member of the Hill Area Committee (HAC) of the draft bill, ‘The Manipur (Hill Areas) Autonomous District Council Bill, 2021’ said the bill should be constituted under rules and regulations of the Indian Constitution and no person can make objections against it.

He said the people should cooperate with one another, and the people of the valley should avoid raising objections against taking any steps for bringing development for the hills, he added.
