'Action will be taken if anyone found charging for PMGKAY rice'

Beneficiaries should not pay for the rice distributed under the Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) scheme, MLA Letpao Haokip said.

MLA Letpao Haokip on Friday warned that immediate action will be taken up against any individual if found taking money from the beneficiaries while distributing free ration under Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY).

He was speaking at the distribution of rations at Zion village on Wednesday.  Letpao said the rations under PMGKAY scheme is distributed under the Samajik Nyay Pakhwada. He said necessary action will be taken up against any Fair Price Shops (FPS) or agents who are found taking money from the beneficiaries while distributing rations under the scheme. 

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ration is distributed to the needy people free of cost and no individual can take charges while distributing the ration, he said.

Beneficiaries should not pay for the rice distributed under the said scheme, and they should immediately inform him instead if they are asked to pay, Letpao added.

Deputy commissioner, Tengnoupal district Manonching; president of Kuki Chief Association Seijang Baite also attended the occasion.

Five kg of rice each was distributed to beneficiaries of 10 villages of Tengnoupal district.
