Addressing the function as chief guest, Dr Santa said the state had faced many inconveniences in delivering healthcare services during the COVID-19 pandemic due to absence of a separate COVID-19 dedicated hospital.

Concerted effort was made to declare either RIMS or JNIMS as COVID-19 Hospital for the time being. But it wasn’t translated into action, he said.

After considering all such challenges endured by health care professionals, RIMS had aimed to set up one care unit for COVID-19, the director said.

The dream has become a reality as 50-bedded COVID Care and COVID Care Private Ward were launched today, he said, adding that such initiative would be highly benefited by people of the state.
