12 cars stolen from Delhi recovered in Manipur

According to police, most of the original engine and chassis numbers were found tampered and converted to different new numbers.

A team of Delhi police assisted by Manipur state police recovered 12 stolen luxury cars from different areas of Manipur.

The Delhi police team was led by a special staff of South West district, New Delhi, sub inspector Anuj Choudhary. The team arrived in Imphal on October 24 in connection with an e-FIR lodged at Crime Branch Police Station, Delhi on October 3.

The said police team assisted by Manipur police recovered the 12 stolen vehicles which included seven Toyota Fortuner (all white in colour), three Hyundai Creta (white, black and grey in colours) and other two vehicles from different areas of Bishnupur district and Imphal West.

According to police, most of the original engine and chassis numbers were found tampered and converted to different new numbers. Even the registration numbers of the vehicles were changed to new registration numbers of Manipur starting with MN 02 and MN 03 serial numbers.

The recovered stolen vehicles will be taken to Delhi and a notice has been served by the concerned police station of Manipur to the persons from whom the stolen vehicles were recovered.
