Twelve delegates of All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) from Manipur left Imphal on Sunday to take part in AITUC’s 82nd National Conference to be held from 16 to 20 December at Alipunga, Kerala.
AITUC, Manipur, general secretary, L Sotin Kumar flagged off the delegates team led by AITUC, Manipur, secretary, Th Suren and Kh. Samungou, from North AOC.
Delegates from across the country will table the inconvenience and problems faced by the farmers in the 5-day-long conference. Manipur delegates will also table the burning issues of the state including the Loktak issue and various problems faced by the fish farmers and labourers of the state.
The conference will also take a firm stand against the abolishment of labour law 29 and merging it in labour code 4. Moreover, reintroducing the previous pension scheme will also be discussed. It will also initiate a protest to increase the wages of the private labourers up to 15,000 rupees. It will also form a neutral platform to allow every central trade union to take part in the protests. L. Sotin Kumar will join the other delegates on December 18.
