The Students’ Union of Kangleipak (SUK) is all set to launch an academic campaign under the theme “Mating Leiba Maheiroi Puthoklasi” soon.
SUK stated in a press release that the union is going to launch a campaign in which they would conduct a drive in every school, both government and private school, with an objective to produce good students in the state.
During the drive, the union will interact with school authorities and students to know their problems and inconveniences and will identify government schools which lack adequate infrastructures and basic necessities. For private schools they will investigate whether the schools are charging reasonable fees in accordance with service provided. Besides, the condition of hostels would be enquired, it added.
SUK further said that conditions of some government schools have improved to some extent. However, many are still in pathetic condition and still many poor family students are depending on government schools. There is a need to improve the condition of government schools as there are also many bright students studying there. With this view, the union had projected to conduct the said campaign, the union added.
Compared to government schools, private schools are doing much better in terms of teaching, learning process and infrastructure. Though the state government has recruited many qualified teachers, due to lack of dedication, the pass percentage in examinations is very low, it added while stating that education is the backbone of society. For a better future, the role of teachers is very important and as such, the government schools should perform their duties with some sense of dedication and commitment, it stated.
The student union also appreciated the initiative of pasting photos of teaching and non-teaching staff on the wall of school to ensure their presence but called for installing biometric in every government school at the earliest.
It also informed that the union has started free tuition for class X students. After the completion of this free foundation course, a free revision course will be started. Any student, preferably economically backward students, can avail the benefit, the union stated.
