The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Royal Academy of Law on Monday organised a Student Induction Programme (SIP) of the academic session 2022-2023 at the premises of the college in Oinam, Bishnupur.
Delivering the keynote address, assistant professor Ng Asa Devi pointed out that the induction programme was conducted to help new students adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment.
It is a way to inculcate the ethos and culture of the institution, help them build bonds with other students and faculty members, and expose them to a sense of larger purpose and self-exploration, she added.
Secretary (governing body) of the college, Irengbam Jugeshwar, quoted Rabindranath Tagore's classic poem "Where the mind is without fear" and enlightened the fresher students to be courageous in every sphere and particularly in this realm of law.
He also reminded the freshers on the necessity to strictly follow the pedagogical atmosphere of the college.
Assistant professor H Rejiya Devi updated the freshers about the various committees and cells of the college such as NSS Cell, Legal Aid Clinic, Committee for ST/SC, Indian Red Cross Society, Red Ribbon Club and the Probono Club established in September 22, 2022 which is the first of its kind in the state.
She further highlighted the various programmes under them such as tree plantation, personality development programmes among others.
The programme was also attended by chairman (governing body) of the college L Radhakishore, advocate Bhupendra Ningomba Meitei, principal of the college Eliza Maisnam, alumni of the college among others.
