The survey was conducted in January-February 2023 after the implementation of the programme for 18 weeks, participated by 1,400 students from schools under STAR and 400 students from non-STAR schools, stated a release on Thursday. It also highlighted the achievements of the midline survey results 2023, stating that the survey showed positive learning outcomes.

Baseline survey was earlier conducted in July 2022 before the implementation of the program in 60 schools under STAR and 20 non-STAR schools, it stated. STAR Education has increased the fluency outcomes of the students enrolled under the program with an acceleration of 12 additional correct words per minute, relative to their counterparts not under the STAR Education program, it said.

It asserted that the numeracy skill increased by 8 percent on a numeracy assessment, as compared to schools which do not follow STAR teaching methodology and added that there is an increase of 7,400 students from the beginning of the programme until January 2023.
The programme, in only 18 weeks since its inception, has increased learning outcomes among students in Government schools, with regular surveys such as baseline, midline and endline surveys conducted to ensure measurable outcomes in terms of teaching and learning, the release said.

STAR education continued delivering lesson plans across the STAR-supported schools amid the conflict-induced limited internet access in Manipur, it maintained. The programme is set to expand to new schools, and increase the rate at which its methodology is effectively being used by school leaders and teachers, it added.
