The 7th AHSWA award for top-scoring students was organised by the All Heirok Students Welfare Association (AHSWA) at the field of Tourangbam Leikai, Heirok Part I in Thoubal district on Sunday.
The event was attended by social activist and actor Rajkumar Somendro alias Kaiku as the chief guest, Heirok Higher Secondary School former teacher Thokchom Manglem as the president along with Heirok Higher Secondary School principal Thokchom Nimai, Shreth Career Institute managing director N Shreth Chongtham an Medilance Manipur founder and CEO D Pibarel as the guests of honour.
The awards presented during the ceremony included:
1. Late Th Irabot Singh Memorial Award which was presented to the five students who scored the highest in the recent BOSEM class X exam.
2. Late A Yaima Memorial Award which was presented to the five students who scored the highest in the recent COHSEM class XII exam.
3. Late Tomba Mangang Memorial Award which was presented to the three students each from class X and class XII who scored the highest in Meitei Mayek subject in the recent BOSEM and COHSEM exam respectively.
5. Late M Rabin Singh Memorial Best School Award which was presented to the school in Heirok which scores the highest pass percentage in the recent HSLC exam etc.
During the event, students who won the written quiz competition for class V to class X organised by AHSWA Heirok, were also awarded.
On the occasion, chief guest Somendro encouraged the students to study and work hard to achieve their goals. He also highlighted the importance of maintaining humility and self-discipline during a student’s life.
The speakers of the programme expressed pride and delight for the number of successful students of Heirok and extended well wishes for the number to increase in the following years.
