Lilong Youths’ Committee organised the ‘1st Meritorious Award Lilong assembly constituency' distribution programme at Bright Brain Institute complex in Lilong Turel Ahanbi on Sunday.
Adhyaksha Thoubal, Hasina Begum; former MLA of Lilong assembly constituency Y Antas Khan, mission director of state horticulture department; Md Zakir Hussain; MSPDCL executive engineer, Md Riyajuddin Khan; social activist Dina Oinam; founder of Bright Brain Institute, Lilong, Md Sultan Habib and LYC instructor Abdul Hashim were among those present at the event.
Speaking at the event, LYC President Bogimayum Noorul Amin said that the committee based in Lilong was established in 2021. He noted that Lilong assembly constituency lags behind in the education system and said that the primary focus of the committee is to improve and boost the education sector.
Besides this, the committee also aims to curb unwanted incidents in the Constituency, he stated. He further sought support and guidance from the experts, the elderly and people of Lilong constituency.
Resource persons also stressed on the importance of time management to the students and also urged them to refrain from intoxicants and to always be disciplined and respect the elderly.
Students who bagged positions in the class 10 and 12 examinations conducted by BOSEM and COHSEM respectively were feted with gifts on the occasion. They are Hanif and Agni Hassan, who clinched 8th and 9th positions respectively in COHSEM’s Class 12 exam and Khumanthem Ronel Meitei, Danish Shah and Jupiter Nameirakpam who secured 19th, 22nd and 25th positions in BOSEM’s Class 10 exam.
Altogether 150 Class 10 students and 100 Class 12 students were also felicitated during the programme.
