The Ad hoc Committee of the five constituent colleges of Dhanamanjuri University objected to the letter sent by the directorate of University and Higher Education, Manipur to the principals of government colleges.
A release by the Ad hoc Committee stated that an emergency meeting of the committee was held at DM College of Arts on Wednesday. The meeting discussed the letter of the directorate of University and Higher Education, Manipur to the principals of all government colleges of Manipur on September 21 which came in the aftermath of the long standing demands of the committee.
The meeting resolved to immediately initiate an appropriate course of action as compelled by any subsequent developments regarding the letter which might run contrary to the demands of the Ad hoc Committee, it added.
The release also stated that the committee has been demanding absorption of the existing teachers, including the principals and the regular teachers of the five constituent colleges of DMU before any process for fresh recruitment of faculties is conducted.
The committee also demanded that the absorption of the existing teachers may be settled relatively ahead of that of the teachers from other colleges under the directorate of University and Higher Education in case (if any) such an opportunity is extended to them, it added.
The release further stated that the letter required the principals to furnish the number of teachers (subject-wise) who would like to opt for absorption to Dhanamanjuri University, thus initiating a preliminary survey on the possible number of teachers of government colleges opting for absorption of the university.
