Displaced students get school supplies

Institute of Rural Education (IRE) in Wangjing, Thoubal district extended a helping hand to the displaced students residing at the Relief Students Residential Camp opened at the institute by its authorities.

In a heartwarming event, the Institute of Rural Education (IRE) in Wangjing, Thoubal district, extended a helping hand to the displaced students residing at the Relief Students Residential Camp opened at the institute by its authorities.

On Monday, the school authorities distributed school bags and stationery items to the students, aiming to provide them with the essential tools for their education.

The Relief Students Residential Camp was established with the purpose of accommodating the students affected by the recent crisis in the region, said the principal of IRE, N Rajivkumar while speaking on the occasion.

He informed that a total of 50 students ranging from classes 6 to 10 were welcomed at the residential camp with the motive to facilitate the displaced individuals confined at relief camps opened at Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex and Lamding Higher Secondary School.

Highlighting the school’s commitment to supporting the displaced students, he emphasised that the school is currently shouldering the financial burden on its own, with some students also contributing relief materials.
The principal further expressed gratitude for any support from the public, stating that it would be greatly appreciated and welcomed.

The displaced students, who have faced challenging circumstances, also expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the school authorities and their fellow classmates, who have provided moral support and encouragement throughout their difficult journey.
