The Imphal East District Skill Committee on Friday organised a placement linked career guidance programme at Maharaja Bodhchandra College in Imphal East in their bid to give job opportunities to the unemployed youth.
The training partners of the programme are Emporium Skill Institute from Nagaland, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), JCRE Skill Solutions, National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), and the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET).
The target group is between 15 to 45 years who have passed eight standards. The sector for replacement includes aviation, beauty and wellness sectors, constructions, cruise-line, hospitality, plastic engineering, and tourism among others.
Deputy commissioner of Imphal East Khumanthem Diana while speaking to the media on the sideline of the programme said the government had organised such a programme to give the youths the opportunity to choose the skill development programme which match their passion.
Moreover, it will help them in becoming self-dependent as many companies such as Emporium and JCRE are ready to give replacement links to the promising youths, she added.
The programme was also attended by state coordinator of MGNF ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Oinam Anuradha and principal of Maharaja Bodhchandra College M Chandra.
