Manipur on Sunday reported two more Covid-19 deaths and 20 more infections, taking the state's death toll and cumulative tally to 2,138 and 1,39,348, according to the latest update by the state Health Services on Friday.
The two COVID-19 fatalities reported on Sunday were from Imphal West and Senapati respectively. Both deceased had comorbidities and were vaccinated with both doses of COVID-19 vaccine, according to a release issued by COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Among the new positive cases, Imphal East and Imphal West reported six new cases each, two each from Kangpokpi and Thoubal, and one each from Bishnupur, Kakching, Senapati and Churachandpur. The new cases confirmed are three from RIMS, one from JINIMS and 16 from other testing centres.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
The release also stated that 39 persons were discharged after completion of surveillance, and the number of recovered cases is 1,36,955. The recovery rate is 98.28 per cent and the number of active cases as of Sunday is 255, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 133 D-type oxygen cylinders and 12 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of August 6.
The number of beds available at JNIMS is 27 of 38 total beds, while at RIMS, it is 43 of 62 total beds as of Sunday.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 31,32,532 (first dose: 16,21,980 second dose: 12,92,315 and precautionary dose: 2,18,237).
The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.24 per cent and for the second dose is 54.13 per cent, it mentioned.
