Manipur on Sunday recorded 35 new COVID-19 positive cases, including six Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel, pushing the state's tally to 1,25,152 while the death toll mounted to 1,971 with one more fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 2.5 per cent.
The single COVID-19 fatality recorded on Sunday was from Imphal East. The deceased had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated, according to a release issued by state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, Imphal West continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 28 cases, two each from Imphal East and Churachandpur and one each from Bishnupur, Kakching and Thoubal.
The state also recorded 22 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,22,496. The recovery rate is 97.88 per cent, the release added.
Manipur now has 685 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 488 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 106 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 21,38,853 (first dose: 12,77,512 second dose: 8,61,341). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with first dose is 54.57 per cent and for second dose is 36.79 per cent, it mentioned.
