Over 1,000 people vaccinated, no complaint of side effects: Manipur CM Biren

The chief minister appealed to the general public not to post baseless comments about the vaccination on social media to prevent panic.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday said that over 1,000 people in the state have been administered COVID vaccine and there has been no reports of any complaints about side-effects of the vaccine so far. He appealed to the general public not to post baseless comments about the vaccination on social media to prevent panic.

The chief minister said that the Manipur government has been strictly monitoring the vaccination programme by following the various criteria to be taken before vaccination. The programme was launched on Saturday and the vaccination programme has been continuing at 130 dedicated centres, Biren said.

He further said the vaccination programme was taken up only after various scientists proved that the vaccine was safe for use. The vaccine was scientifically proven as safe after nearly one year of research, he assured and appealed to the people not to create panic regarding the vaccination, he said.

Biren said the state government will try to provide the vaccine in a phase wise manner to each individual who has fulfilled the criteria mentioned by the scientists. He appealed to the people of Manipur to be patient as the vaccination programme will cover all the population of Manipur.
