Karnataka today has the highest COVID-19 active caseload of 3,30,477, taking over Maharashtra which had the highest number of active cases since the pandemic hit India. Maharashtra today has 74,66,420 total COVID-19 confirmed cases, including 2,83,731 active cases, 1,42,071 deaths and 70,40,618 recoveries, official sources said.
According to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry, India's single day COVID-19 spike rose to 3,33,533 and 525 more patients died on Sunday. With it, the country's active caseload surged to 21,87,205, while the death toll rose to 4,89,409.
The country's active cases stood at 5.57 per cent. The total COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 3,92,37,264 cases, while 3,65,60,650 people infected by the virus have recovered so far. The current recovery rate is 93.18 per cent.
India's daily positivity rate stood at 17.78 per cent and weekly positivity rate is 16.87 per cent.
Meanwhile, 71,55,20,580 total COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far. And, with the administration of more than 71 lakh Doses (71,10,445) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 161.92 Cr (1,61,92,84,270) as per provisional reports till 7 am Sunday.
A total of 80,10,256 precautionary doses have been administered so far.
