Northeast India COVID-19 death toll reaches 13,466

While Assam has the highest number of COVID-19 death toll of 6639, Arunachal Pradesh has the lowest number of deaths among Northeast states in India so far.

COVID-19 has so far claimed as many as 13,466 lives across the eight states in Northeast India, with Assam reporting the highest number of death toll of 6639, while Arunachal has the lowest number of COVID-19 deaths as of Sunday.

Manipur's COVID-19 death toll stood at 2,120 with no reports of COVID-19 fatalities for the past 16 consecutive days, the second highest death count after Assam. Manipur is followed by Meghalaya with 1593 total deaths reported so far.

As of Sunday, COVID-19 has claimed 921 lives in Tripura, while Nagaland's death toll reached 759, Mizoram 686 and Sikkim 452.

Meanwhile, Assam COVID-19 active caseload moved to 1,349, while Mizoram today has 998, Manipur 31, Meghalaya 15, Nagaland 15, Sikkim nine and Arunachal Pradesh two active cases.
