No new positive case, but COVID-19 claims one life in Nagaland

Nagaland's COVID-19 caseload remained unchanged at 35,930, while its death toll inched up to 780.

Nagaland reported one COVID-19 death after a long lull though no new positive cases was registered, as per the Union Health Ministry's last updated data on Friday.

Nagaland is the only state among all states in Norheast India that reported COVID-19 death on Friday, while Sikkim, which reported one death on Thursday reported no death on Friday.

With the report of one fatality, Nagaland's COVID-19 death toll reached 780, while its COVID-19 confirmed caseload remained unchanged at 35,930 with no new positve cases as on Friday.

With the ebbing of the pandemic in the state, the number of active cases in the state dropped to 10, as four more patients recovered and the total recoveries in the state reached 35,140.

The state's current recovery rate stood at 87.80 per cent, while its active ratio is recorded at 0.03 per cent and its death ratio at 2.17 per cent, according to the ministry.

Meanwhile, India's COVID-19 active caseload stood at 47,056 with 6,080 new cases, 6,768 recoveries and 18 more deaths reported as per the latest update.

The country's confirmed caseload mounted to 4,44,82,149, including 4,39,06,972 total recoveries and 5,28,121 total deaths.

A total of 88,87,10,787 samples have been tested for Coronavirus in the country, while 2,14,55,91,100 total vaccine doses have been administered till September 9, as per the last updated data.
