Nambol police station was on Sunday declared a containment zone after two residents of the Police Station tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.
Executive magistrate Bishnupur assembly constituency Laishram Bobi Singh in an order stated that it has become expedient to issue containment measures in view of the impending threat of COVID-19 pandemic in the area.
The executive magistrate further ordered sealing of the geographical area within the office building in the east, Tiddim Road in the west, office of the Dy SP (Ops) in the north and 3 Mini Barrack in the south with immediate effect.
It ordered restricting entry and exit of population from the containment area, closure of schools (if any), offices and public gathering of any type, banning vehicular movement in the area and initiating active surveillance of COVID-19 cases as containment measures.
The executive magistrate also warned that any person/institution/organisation found violating any of the containment measures shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
