Mizoram's COVID-19 tally surges to 3,968

Of the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, 205 cases are active while 3,757 persons have recovered from COVID-19

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Mizoram surged to 3,968 with 32 new positive cases, official sources said on Tuesday.

Of the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, 205 cases are active while 3,757 persons have recovered from COVID-19, according to an update posted by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Mizoram on Twitter.

Mizoram has so far recorded six COVID-19 deaths, all from Aizawl.

Among the active cases, Aizawl has the maximum cases with 102, followed by Lawngtlai with 41 and Lunglei with 23. No new cases have been recorded in Hnahthial and Siaha districts after the recovery of COVID-19 patients. The two districts had recorded 15 and 35 COVID-19 cases, respectively.

In other districts, 16 COVID-19 active cases are in Serchhip, nine in Champhai, six in Kolasib, five in Saitual, two in Mamit and one in Khawzawl, the DIPR added.
