Meghalaya reports 75 Omicron cases

Meghalaya today has a total of 86,358 COVID-19 cases, while the total active cases of the disease reached 1,128 and recoveries climbed to 83,740.

As many as 75 Omicron cases have been detected in Meghalaya till date, highest among all states with Omicron cases in Northeast India, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

Apart from Meghalaya, Omicron has spread to Manipur and Assam in Northeast region.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya on Sunday reported 211 total COVID-19 confirmed cases and 74 more recoveries. With it, a total of 86,358 COVID-19 cases have been detected in the state, while the total active cases of the disease reached 1,128 and recoveries climbed to 83,740 as of Sunday.

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said 163 cases were detected from East Khasi Hills district, 18 West Garo Hills district, 14 East Jaintia Hills district, 5 West Jaintia Hills district, 4 Ri Bhoi district, 3 West Khasi Hills district, 2 North Garo Hills district, 1 East Garo Hills district and 1 South West Garo Hills district.

East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 886 followed by West Garo Hills 95, Ri Bhoi 63,  East Jaintia Hills 24, West Jaintia Hills 21, West Khasi Hills 16, South West Khasi Hills 9,  South West Garo Hills 4, North Garo Hills 4, South Garo Hills 3 and East Garo Hills 3.
