Meghalaya reports 30 new Covid-19 cases

A total of 26 cases have been detected in East Khasi Hills, 2 West Garo Hills, 1 East Garo Hills and 1 West Jaintia Hills.

Meghalaya recorded 30 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday taking the total active cases to 301.

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said 26 cases have been detected in East Khasi Hills, 2 West Garo Hills, 1 East Garo Hills and 1 West Jaintia Hills.

Dr War also informed that 37 persons have recovered from the viral infection. Of these, 24 are from East Khasi Hills, 6 West Garo Hills, 6 East Garo Hills and 1 West Jaintia Hills. He said the state has registered zero COVID-19 related deaths during the past 24 hours.

So far, a total of 84,444 COVID-19 cases have been detected in the state out of which 301 are active cases, 82,672 recovered while there have been 1,471 deaths.

East Khasi Hills has the highest active COVID-19 cases with 247 followed by West Khasi Hills with 17 cases.

There are 11 cases in West Garo Hills, 10 West Jaintia Hills, 8 Ri Bhoi, 6 East Garo Hills and 2 East Jaintia Hills.

So far, four districts – North Garo Hills South Garo Hills, South west Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills – have registered zero cases.
