In view of the rising COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur and as directed by the state government, the district administration Chandel also started a mass testing drive for COVID-19 as part of the precautionary measures in the district.
The district Health department and district COVID- 19 Task force under the supervision of the deputy commissioner, Chandel Mayanglambam Rajkumar conducted a mass testing for COVID-19 at Japhou Bazaar area, Riverlane and Hnaringkhu area On Thursday. Of the total 220 persons tested, 20 people were found positive of which nine were males and 11 were females.
It has been informed that as part of the mass testing drive, three different locations were identified. Beside the above locations, the other two locations are Western valley area and Chakpikarong Bazaar area where the mass testing will be conducted on Friday and Saturday respectively.
The cluster level joint task force committees, leaders of the CVOs and student organisations and village heads also played a very important role in successfully organising the mass testing drive on Thursday.
