Manipur on Wednesday reported 2 COVID-19 deaths and 188 Covid-19 positive cases, pushing the positivity rate up to 8.4 per cent. Following the new cases, the state's COVID-19 confirmed caseload rose to 1,35,358 and the detah toll mounted to 2,074, according to the latest update by the state Health department.
Of the two COVID-19 deaths, one was from Imphal East and the other from Ukhrul. Both had co-morbidities. One was vaccinated with the second dose, while the other had recieved the first dose, as per the release from the state's Covid-19 Common Control Room.
A total 2,244 test results were recieved on Wednesday. Of it, 61 from Imphal West and 50 from Imphal East tested positve for the infection.
Rest of the positive cases are - 17 from Bishnupur, two from Chandel, 10 from Churachandpur, nine from Kakching, one from Kangpokpitwo from Noney, four from Senapati, 11 each from Thoubal and Tamenglong, two from Tengnoupal and eight from Ukhrul. Two others are personnel of the Central Armed Police Force.
The state also recorded 235 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,29,729. The recovery rate is 95.84 per cent. Manipur now has 3,555 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 264 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 63 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 25,98,426 (first dose: 14,69, 590 | second dose: 10,85,648 | precautionary dose: 43,188).
The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 59.80 per cent and for the second dose is 46.38 per cent, it mentioned.
