The plan of the state health department to officially declare Manipur Covid-free eluded on Tuesday with one new case of Covid-19.
As per the guidelines, a state can be officially declared Covid-19 free if no new positive case is reported for 14 days. There was no report of any new cases in the past 12 days even as the last three active cases recovered last Friday.

With the new case, the cumulative tally of positive cases stands at 1,37,231 and the death toll also remained at 2,120 with zero new fatality. The positivity rate is one per cent.
According to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, the single COVID-19 case reported on Tuesday is from Imphal West.
The recovery rate is 98.45 per cent. Manipur now has one COVID-19 active case, as per the release.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 28,85,238 (first dose: 15,67,197 second dose: 12,23,833 precautionary dose: 94,208).
The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.83 per cent and for the second dose is 51.97 per cent, it said.
