Manipur on Sunday witnessed a drop in daily COVID-19 positive cases at 37 from Saturday's 53 cases, while no deaths were reported, according to official sources. The day's positivity rate is 7.3 per cent.

On Sunday, 508 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur, of which 37 returned positive for the infection. Manipur has so far conducted 16,32,070 COVID-19 tests.

The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases reached 1,39,074, including 1,36,404 recoveries, 2129 deaths and 541 active cases as of Sunday, stated a release by the COVID-19 Common Control Room.

Of the new positive cases, 11 were from Imphal West, eight from Imphal East, five from Churachandpur. four from Bishnupur, two each from Kangpokpi, Senapati, and Pherzawl, and one each from  Jiribam and Chandel.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

Meanwhile, a total of 316 D-type oxygen cylinders and 13 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of July 30.

The number of beds available at JNIMS is 15 of 38 total beds, while at RIMS, it is 32 of 62 total beds as of Sunday.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 31,05,353 (first dose: 16,14,496 second dose: 12,86,829 and precautionary dose: 2,04,028.

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.20 per cent and for the second dose is 53.98 per cent, it mentioned.
