Manipur's daily COVID-19 positive tally surges

According to the latest update by the state health department, Manipur reported zero death cases and the death toll remained 2,120, while six new COVID-19 positive cases pushed the number of active cases to 22.

Manipur on Wednesday reported six new COVID-19 positive cases that pushed the number of active cases in the state to 18 and total positive cases to 1,37,266, official sources said.

According to the latest update by the state health department, the state reported zero death cases and the death toll remained 2,120. Of the six positive cases, five were reported from Imphal West and one from Imphal East. The positivity rate is 7.5 per cent, it said.

The health department also stated that a total of 80 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur on Wednesday. Manipur has so far conducted 16,14,612 COVID-19 tests.

Four new COVID-19 recoveries were also recorded in the state on Wednesday. The number of recovered cases increased at 1,35,128 and the recovery rate is 98.44 per cent. Manipur now has 18 COVID-19 active cases, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

Meanwhile, a total of 103 oxygen cylinders and seven B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of June 28.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 29,58,928 (first dose: 15,92,012 second dose: 12,57,352 precautionary dose: 1,09,564).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.96 per cent and for the second dose is 53.13 per cent, it mentioned.
