Manipur’s COVID-19 caseload rose to 22,748, including 2,930 Central security personnel as 200 more people tested positive for the virus on Friday, the state health department said.
As per the latest updates from the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, in the past 24 hours, one more COVID-19 patient died, while 188 persons (109M, 79F) from the general population and 12 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases.
The new positive cases from the general population included 114 from Imphal West, 22 from Imphal East, 11 from Thoubal, six from Bishnupur, one each from Kakching, Tengnoupal and Ukhrul, 16 from Tamenglong, two each from Churachandpur and Senapati, seven from Kamjong and five from Kangpokpi, the release stated. It stated that all are locals without any significant travel history and they are being shifted to Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
The release also stated that the COVID-19 victim on Friday was one 58-year-old male from Thoubal. With it, the cumulative number of deaths is 232, while 189 more people have recovered.
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 19,620 (General Population - 16.900 and Central Security Personnel 2,720). The number of active cases is 2.896 (General Population 2.690 and Central Security Personnel - 206). The recovery rate is 86.24 per cent.
Those in contact with a COVID-19 positive person have been advised to isolate themselves.
