Manipur's COVID-19 active caseload drops to 366

As many as 366 patients were discharged in Manipur on Friday.

Manipur's COVID-19 active caseload on Friday dropped to 366 as the state recorded 342 new recoveries while state's tally reached 1,25,297 with the addition of 28 new COVID-19 positive cases, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 1.6 per cent and the recovery rate is 98.13 per cent.

The cumulative number of recovered cases reached 1,22,951, according to a release issued by state COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 17 and five cases respectively. Three cases were reported from Churachandpur, two from Bishnupur and one from Thoubal.

COVID-19 also claimed one more life in Manipur, taking the death toll to 1980. The single COVID-19 fatality recorded on Friday was from Thoubal. The deceased had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated, the release stated.

Meanwhile, a total of 488 D-type oxygen cylinders and 67 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 21,75,817 (first dose: 12,86,251 second dose: 8,89,566). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 65.34 per cent and for second dose is 45.19 per cent, it mentioned.
