Manipur on Wednesday witnessed an uptrend in single-day COVID-19 positive cases with seven new cases, taking the state's caseload to 29,250, according to the state health department.
The new positive cases included three from Imphal West and two each from Imphal East and Bishnupur districts, stated a release issued by the COVID-19 common control room.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.
While the death toll remained at 373, the cumulative number of COVID-19 recovered cases surged to 28,836 as two more recoveries were recorded in a span of 24 hours, the release stated. The state's recovery rate reached at 95.58 per cent and the number of active cases is 41, it added.
Meanwhile, the state health department stated that all passengers coming from five states- Maharashtra, Kerala, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat will be tested for COVID-19 with effect from Wednesday on their arrival at Imphal International Airport until further notification.
It further stated that a total of 43,414 people have been vaccinated in Manipur till date, of which 1,708 were vaccinated on Wednesday. In all, 29,66 healthcare workers have been vaccinated, it added.
