In yet another shocking development, Tamenglong district on Sunday detected 51 new COVID-19 positive cases during the last twenty-four hours, sources said.
With the new 51 positive cases on Sunday, the number of COVID-19 active cases in the district surged to 156, including seven patients from other districts.
Sources informed the Imphal Free Press that some workers of Shivalaya construction Limited company, engaged in the construction of Tamenglong-Khongsang road into a double lane road, tested positive on Saturday at COVID-19 testing gate.
Random testing was carried out on Sunday and 42 positive cases were detected while another nine positive cases were further detected from Taipram village in Tousem subdivision, the sources added.
