Manipur reports two new COVID-19 positive case, zero death

The two COVID-19 cases reported in Manipur on Wednesday are from Imphal West and Chandel.

Manipur on Wednesday recorded two new COVID-19 positive case, pushing the state's tally to 1,37,224 while the death toll remained at 2,120 with zero new fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 1.8 per cent.

According to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, the two COVID-19 cases reported on Wednesday are from Imphal West and Chandel.

The state also reported two new recoveries, taking the number of recovered cases to 1,35,097. The recovery rate is 98.45 per cent. Manipur now has seven COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 129 oxygen cylinders and 12 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 28,48,604 (first dose: 15,57,626 second dose: 12,06,407 precautionary dose: 84,571).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.68 per cent and for the second dose is 51.39 per cent, it mentioned.
