Manipur reports six new COVID-19 positive cases

No COVID-19 related death case has been reported in Manipur for nearly a month.

Manipur on Sunday recorded six new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state’s tally to 1,37,196 while the death toll remained at 2,120 with zero new fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 2.6 per cent.

According to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, of the five COVID-19 cases reported on Sunday, two cases were reported from Bishnupur and one case each from Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal and Kakching.

The state reported zero recoveries, keeping the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,35,019. The recovery rate is 98.41 per cent. Manipur now has 57 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 253 oxygen cylinders and 71 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 28,12,421 (first dose: 15,49,841; second dose: 11,92,375 and precautionary dose at 70,205).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.61 per cent and for the second dose is 50.93 per cent, it mentioned.
