Manipur on Monday reported 72 new COVID-19 cases, taking the state's tally to 1,26,228, official sources said.
On Monday, a total of 1,741 samples were tested for COVID-19, of which 72 returned positive.
The new positive cases included 57 from the general population and 15 from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Among the new COVID-19 positive cases from the general population, 10 were from Imphal East, 36 from Imphal west, three from Thoubal, two each from Tamenglong, Kangpokpi and Senapati, and one each from Kamjong and Churachandpur, the release stated.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.
No COVID-19 death was reported in the state on Monday and the death toll remained at 2,011, it stated.
A total of 12 persons were discharged on Monday. However, due to various reasons, 91 persons were reported as discharged cases only on Monday. Therefore, the cumulative number of COVID-19 recoveries is 1,23,779. The recovery rate is 98.06 per cent and the number of active cases dropped to 438 from Sunday's 469, the release stated.
The total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 23,49,134 ( first dose: 13,41,185 and second dose: 10,07,949).
As of January 9, a total of 186 D-type oxygen cylinders and 98 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours, the release added.
