Manipur reports 70 new COVID-19 cases, active caseload reaches 268

According to the latest update by the state health department, a total of 442 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur on Wednesday. Manipur has so far conducted 16,17,894 COVID-19 tests.

Manipur on Wednesday reported 70 new COVID-19 positive cases and zero death cases, pushing the state's total positive cases to 1,37,613 and confining the death toll at 2,120.

Of the 70 positive cases, 32 were reported from Imphal West, 17 from Imphal East, seven from Thoubal, three each from Bishnupur, Senapati and Churachandpur, and one each from Ukhrul, Kangpokpi, Tengnoupal, Noney and Chandel. The positivity rate is 15.8 per cent.

The state also recorded 18 new COVID-19 recoveries increasing the number of recovered cases to 1,35,225 and the recovery rate is 98.26 per cent. Manipur now has 268 COVID-19 active cases, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

Meanwhile, a total of 133 oxygen cylinders and 19 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of July 12.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 29,90,278 (first dose: 15,99,757 second dose: 12,68,765 and precautionary dose: 1,21,756).


The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.2 per cent and for the second dose is 53.42 per cent, it mentioned.
