Manipur reports 46 more COVID-19 cases

Manipur reported 46 new COVID-19 cases of the 638 total samples tested during the last 24 hours, according to the latest update by the state Health Services on Friday.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state reached 1,39,295, including 297 active cases, according to a release issued by COVID-19 Common Control Room.

Of the total population tested positive on Friday, 22 are male and 24 are female. The new cases confirmed are seven from RIMS and 39 from other testing centres.

As per the release, nine positive cases are from Imphal East, 16 from Imphal West, three from Thoubal, one from Bishnupur, two from Kakching, one from Kangpokpi, six from Ukhrul, one from Pherzawl, four from Chandel and three from Churachandpur.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.

Over the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported no death cases due to COVID-19 while the cumulative number of deaths stood at 2133, it added.

The release also stated that 152 persons were discharged after completion of surveillance, and the number of recovered cases is 1,36,865. The recovery rate is 98.26 per cent, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 0 D-type oxygen cylinders and 0 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of August 4.

The number of beds available at JNIMS is 22 of 38 total beds, while at RIMS, it is 43 of 62 total beds as of Tuesday.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 31,22622 (first dose: 16,18,418, second dose: 12,90,306 and precautionary dose: 2,13,908).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.23 per cent and for the second dose is 54.08 per cent, it mentioned.
