Manipur reports 20 new COVID-19 positive cases, zero death

Imphal West continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 11 cases on Monday.

Manipur on Monday recorded 20 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state’s Covid-19 confirmed tally to 1,25,535 while the death toll remained at 1,990 with zero fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is two per cent.

According to a release issued by state COVID-19 Common Control Room, Imphal West continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 11 cases. Seven cases were reported from Imphal East and one each from Bishnupur and Senapati.

The state also recorded 23 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,23,220.

The recovery rate is 98.16 per cent. Manipur now has 325 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 346 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 77 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine reached 22,36,856 (first dose: 13,02,618 second dose: 9,34,238). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 66.17 per cent and for the second dose is 47.46 per cent, it mentioned.
