Manipur reports 16 new COVID-19 positive cases, four recoveries

Of the 16 new positive cases, nine were reported from Imphal West, six from Imphal East and one from Chandel.

Manipur on Sunday reported 16 new COVID-19 cases but no death cases, thus pushing the state's total positive cases to 1,37,297 and confining the death toll at 2,120.

Of the 16 new positive cases, nine were reported from Imphal West, six from Imphal East and one from Chandel. The positivity rate is 12.7 per cent.

According to the latest update by the state health department, a total of 126 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur on Sunday. Manipur has so far conducted 16,14,949 COVID-19 tests.

Four new COVID-19 recoveries were also recorded in the state on Sunday thus taking the number of recovered cases to 1,35,134 and the recovery rate at 98.42 per cent. Manipur now has 43 COVID-19 active cases, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

Meanwhile, a total of 88 oxygen cylinders and zero B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of July 1.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 29,65,552 (first dose: 15,93,555; second dose: 12,59,562 and precautionary dose: 1,12,435).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.97 per cent and for the second dose is 53.20 per cent, it mentioned.
