Manipur on Thursday reported 155 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,26,705, while no death was reported in the state, official sources said.
A total of 2,610 samples were tested for COVID-19 on Thursday, of which 155 returned positive. The day's positivity rate is 5.7 per cent. Manipur has so far conducted a total of 14,85,953 COVID-19 tests.
Among the new COVID-19 positive cases, 100 were from the general population while 55 were personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The new positive cases from the general population include 12 from Imphal East, 28 from Imphal West, seven from Thoubal, foru from Bishnupur, one each from Kakching and Noney, six from Ukhrul, 12 from Chandel, 27 from Churachandpur, and two from Senapati, the release stated.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.
With no COVID-19 death on Thursday, the death toll remained at 2,012.
The state recorded 24 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of COVID-19 recoveries to 1,23,836. The recovery rate dropped to 97.74 per cent from Wednesday's 97.83 per cent and the number of active cases also surged to 857 from Wednesday's 539, the release stated.
The total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 23,70,059 ( first dose: 13,52,819, second dose: 10,14,455 and precautionary dose: 2,776).
As of January 12, a total of 153 D-type oxygen cylinders and nine B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours, the release added.
