Manipur logs 93 new COVID-19 cases, active caseload rises to 450

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 30,06,762 (first dose: 16,02,770 second dose: 12,71,796 and precautionary dose: 1,32,196).

Manipur on Saturday recorded 93 new COVID-19 cases and zero death cases, pushing the state's total positive cases to 1,37,873 and confining the death toll at 2,120. The day's positivity rate is 15.9 per cent.

Of the 93 new positive cases, 41 cases were from Imphal West, 28 from Imphal East, eight from Thoubal, four from Bishnupur, three each from Ukhrul, Kangpokpi and Noney, and one from Kakching.

According to the latest update by the state health department, a total of 590 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur on Saturday. Manipur has so far conducted 16,19,653 COVID-19 tests.

The state also recorded 29 new COVID-19 recoveries increasing the number of recovered cases to 1,35,303 and the recovery rate is 98.14 per cent. Manipur now has 450 COVID-19 active cases, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

Meanwhile, a total of 117 D-type oxygen cylinders and 14 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of July 15.

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.5 per cent and for the second dose is 53.51 per cent, it mentioned.
