Manipur logs 40 new COVID-19 recoveries; active caseload dips to 353

A total of 32 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Manipur on Sunday.

Manipur's COVID-19 active caseload dropped further to 353 on Sunday from Saturday's 362 as 40 more patients were discharged, while the state's tally surged to 1,25,360 with 32 new COVID-19 positive cases. The positivity rate of 2.2 per cent, according to the latest update by the state health department.

The cumulative number of recovered cases in Manipur is 1,23,025 and the the recovery rate is 98.14 per cent, according to a release issued by state COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

Manipur's COVID-19 death toll mounted to 1,982 with one more fatality.from Imphal West. The deceased had co-morbidities and was vaccinated with the first dose, the release stated.

As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 14 and 11 cases respectively. Four cases were reported from Bishnupur, two from Chandel and one from Thoubal.  

Meanwhile, a total of 493 D-type oxygen Cylinders and 147 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 21,92,315 (first dose: 12,90,214 second dose: 9,02,101). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with first dose is 65.54 per cent and for second dose is 45.83 per cent, it mentioned.
