Manipur's cumulative number of COVID-19 cases reached 1,39,408 with the addition of 31 new positive cases on Tuesday. The day's positivity rate is 6.8 per cent, according to the latest update by the state health department.
On Tuesday, a total of 456 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur. So far as many as 16,36,853 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state.
The death toll remained 2,138 with no new cases of fatalities.
Among the new cases, eight cases were from Churachandpur, seven from Imphal West, five from Imphal East, tree each from Thoubal and Ukhrul, two from Bishnupur, and one each from Kakching, Kangpokpi and Pherzawl, according to a release issued by COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The new cases confirmed are three from RIMS and 28 from other testing centres. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
The release also stated that 42 persons were discharged after completion of surveillance, and the number of recovered cases was 1,37,037. The recovery rate was 98.30 per cent and the number of active cases as on Tuesday was 233, it stated.
Meanwhile, a total of 29 D-type oxygen cylinders and 12 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of August 8.
The number of beds available at JNIMS is 29 of 38 total beds, while at RIMS, it is 43 of 62 total beds as of Tuesday.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 31,34,410 (first dose: 16,22,317 second dose: 12,92,633 and precautionary dose: 2,19,460).
The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.25 per cent and for the second dose is 54.14 per cent, it mentioned.
