Manipur logs 14 new COVID-19 positive cases, zero death

Six new COVID-19 cases were reported from Imphal West, another two cases each from Bishnupur and Thoubal, and one each from Imphal East, Kakching, Tengnoupal and Ukhrul.

Manipur on Wednesday recorded 14 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,25,761 while the death toll remained at 2,002 with zero fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 1.1 per cent.

According to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, six new COVID-19 cases were reported from Imphal West, another two cases each from Bishnupur and Thoubal, and one each from Imphal East, Kakching, Tengnoupal and Ukhrul. 

The state also recorded nine new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,23,574. The recovery rate is 98.26 per cent. Manipur now has 185 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 310 D-type oxygen cylinders and 98 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 23,05,164 (first dose: 13,21,726 second dose: 9,83,438). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 56.46 per cent and for the second dose is 42.01  per cent, it mentioned.
