Manipur active COVID-19 tally climbs to 537

A total of 90 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Manipur on Monday.

Manipur on Monday recorded 90 new COVID-19 cases and zero death cases, pushing the state's total positive cases to 1,38,033 and confining the death toll at 2,121. The day's positivity rate is 11.5 per cent.

Of the 70 new positive cases, 46 were from Imphal West, 18 from Imphal East, nine from Churachandpur, five from Thoubal, four each from Bishnupur and Kakching, two from Ukhrul, and one each from Kangpokpi and Kamjong.

As per the latest update by the state health department, a total of 786 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur on Monday. Manipur has so far conducted 16,21,023 COVID-19 tests.

The state also recorded 45 new COVID-19 recoveries increasing the number of recovered cases to 1,35,375 and the recovery rate is 98.7 per cent. Manipur now has 537 COVID-19 active cases, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

Meanwhile, a total of 98 D-type oxygen cylinders and one B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of July 17.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 30,11,491 (first dose: 16,03,290 second dose: 12,72,563 and precautionary dose: 1,35,638).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.6 per cent and for the second dose is 53.54 per cent, it mentioned.
