Manipur active COVID-19 caseload climbs to 624 with 98 new cases

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the Covid vaccine has reached 30,30,754 (first dose: 16,05,030 second dose: 12,75,506 and precautionary dose: 1,50,218).

Manipur on Wednesday recorded 98 new COVID-19 cases and zero death cases, pushing the state's total positive cases to 1,38,221 and confining the death toll at 2,122. The day's positivity rate is 9.6 per cent.

Of the 98 new positive cases, 41 were from Imphal West, 21 from Imphal East, 15 from Churachandpur, four from Thoubal, three each from Bishnupur, Ukhrul, Pherzawl and Tamenglong, two from Kangpokpi, and one each from Kakching, Jiribam and Chandel.

As per the latest update by the state health department, a total of 1,022 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur on Wednesday. Manipur has so far conducted 16,22,956 COVID-19 tests.

The state also recorded 50 new COVID-19 recoveries increasing the number of recovered cases to 1,35,475 and the recovery rate is 98.1 per cent. Manipur now has 624 COVID-19 active cases, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

Meanwhile, a total of 86 D-type oxygen cylinders and 26 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of July 19.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the Covid vaccine has reached 30,30,754 (first dose: 16,05,030 second dose: 12,75,506 and precautionary dose: 1,50,218).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.9 per cent and for the second dose is 53.63 per cent, it mentioned.
