India on Tuesday reported daily new COVID-19 cases less than 20,000 after 201 days at 18,795 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry.
The country’s COVID-19 active cases account for less than one per cent of the total cases, currently at 0.87 per cent; lowest since March 2020. The total active caseload stands at 2,92,206; lowest in 192 days.
The total confirmed caseload is now 3,36,97,581, while the death toll climbed to 4,47,373 with 179 more fatalities reported across the country.
Kerala, which has been reporting the highest number of daily new COVID-19 cases among all states and UTs in the country, saw a drop with 6,122 new positive cases and its total active cases stood at 1,57,733 as of Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Dadra And Nagar Haveli And Daman and Diu has been witnessing zero COVID-19 active cases for the past few days and its COVID-19 confirmed tally remained 10,670, including 10,666 recoveries and death toll of four.
Recovery Rate currently is 97.81 per cent; highest since March 2020. As many as 26,030 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries increased to 3,29,58,002.
The country’s weekly positivity rate (1.88 per cent) remained less than three per cent for last 95 days, while the daily positivity rate (1.42%) stood less than three per cent for last 29 days
In all, over 56.57 crore total tests have been conducted across the country so far, while over 1 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the last 24 hours. With it, Over 87.07 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
