India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeds 210.31 crore

Over 4 crore first dose of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to children in the age group 12-14 years across the country, so far.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage reached 2,10,31,65,703 as per provisional reports till 7 am Tuesday. This has been achieved through 2,79,87,316 sessions, the Union Health Ministry said.

According to the latest update by the ministry, a total of 4,00,16,064 children in the 12-14 years age group have been administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine as of Tuesday.

And, a total 2,10,31,65,703 beneficiaries have been administered the precaution dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, so far.

Meanwhile, 8,586 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, and India’s COVID-19 active caseload currently stands at 96,506. Active cases now constitute 0.22 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

India’s recovery rate stood at 98.59 pr cent as 9,680 patients recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) increased to 4,37,33,624.

In the last span of 24 hours, a total of 3,91,281 COVID-19 tests were conducted. India has so far conducted over 88,31,16,790 cumulative tests. Consequently, the weekly positivity rate in the country currently stood at 3.31 per cent and the daily positivity rate is reported to be 2.19 per cent.
