In a bid to spread awareness on COVID-19 to far-flung remote villages of Tamenglong district, the 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector Assam Rifles IGAR (E) launched a Covid Awareness Campaign on social media in Tamenglong town on Wednesday.
The campaign was held in continuation of the Covid awareness wall initiative by the battalion last week.
The unit has created a Covid awareness parody on Hindi songs. The unit jazz band playing on lyrics of a popular Hindi song has rolled out its first such song.
This unique method of spreading awareness aims to guide the people about the Covid appropriate behaviour and to reach out to the society even better than before.
This song has become an instant hit among music loving youth of the area. Within one day, it was shared over a large number of groups, taking the awareness drive to far-flung remote villages as well.
The battalion has also initiated a Covid Care Helpline Number which is providing the civil population access to the professional consultation by the unit medical officers with respect to Covid precautions, symptoms and actions.
These helpline numbers 9862053455, 03877267227 are operational 24x7 for anyone wanting help with Telemedicine or seeking advice from medical experts. With the launch of Phase-3 of the Covid 19 vaccination awareness campaign by the government, frontline workers and other agencies have speeded up.
The doctors, nursing and other para medical staff are working harder than ever to take the situation in control and curb the spread. At a time when medical practitioners are advising citizens to stay home, parents are finding it difficult and are struggling to ensure good hygiene among kids while keeping them confined indoors.
