First time since beginning of pandemic, Manipur reports zero COVID-19 case

No COVID-19 related death has been reported in Manipur for over a month now. The state's cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases stood at 1,37,205 and the death toll remained at 2,120.

For the first time since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, no new COVID-19 case was reported in Manipur on Friday while the state continued to report zero COVID-19 fatality for more than a month now, official sources said.

On Friday, a total of 227 samples were tested for COVID-19 in Manipur and none was found positive for the infection. As many as 16,07,954 COVID-19 tests have so far been conducted in Manipur.

The state's cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases stood at 1,37,205 and the death toll remained at 2,120.

According to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, the state reported three new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,35,059. The recovery rate is 98.44 per cent. Manipur now has 26 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 159 oxygen cylinders and 11 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 28,23,786 (first dose: 15,52617 second dose: 11,96,602 precautionary dose: 74,567).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.64 per cent and for the second dose is 51.09 per cent, it mentioned.
